November 16 Community Update
Dear Neighbors,
Fall is definitely in the air, isn’t it?
Check out of the the progress in the past month
Interior and exterior tuck pointing has continued
Terracotta stone work on building facade
Geo-foam flooring insulation
Structural roof repair at front mezzanine (2nd floor)
HVAC layout and ductwork
Steel columns we erected
Completed concrete pour on 1st floor, stairs to basement, basement floor, courtyard and front stoop
Temporary gas meter and heater in building due to colder weather
Electrical gear pre-work
Metal stud framing wall layout
Scissor lifts were delivered
Structural roof repairs
The flooring is like layers of a cake 🍰…
A layer of foam (vs pouring solid concrete) which reduces costs:
A layer of membrane for protection and a layer rebar for support:
Another layer of concrete:
Voila! A strong, level floor now officially exists which allows equipment like scissor lifts to come in so workers can safely conduct work on the roof support beams (shown below). We haven’t even mentioned the frosting layer of the flooring cake - stay tuned!
Here are a couple examples of what metal framing looks like (you may have see something similar in wood framed homes being built.
What’s coming up next?
Metal stud wall framing
Addition of more structural steel
Mechanical, electrical and plumbing pre-work
Thanks again for your patience as this project continues to take up a traffic lane in front of the building.
